Pinheirinho Park (Parque Pinheirinho)
In addition to various structures for sports and leisure, Pinheirinho Park has a stunning look. Beautiful Palms, a forest of native trees, that sound of falling water that distracts, relaxes and of course, the beautiful dam make up this scenery worthy of the record of the most professional lenses or even the simple camera of your cell phone.
Which street can you play with a stroller, skates or play bets (taco) without worry? If outside the traffic prevents some activities between the children or even in the family, inside, the Park Pinheirinho seems to call the visitors to play. Even the grown-ups look like children around here.
With several kiosks and barbecue grills at the disposal of visitors, Pinheirinho Park offers a different opportunity for families to gather. Sitting at the table or on the grass themselves, families spend pleasant hours and come home with renewed energy.

Doll's Museum (Museu do Boneco)

Cia Polichinelo

In order to promote a more effective contact with this art, the Boneco Space has, as a periodic activity, monitored visits for a group of children. During these visits, in addition to direct contact with the puppets, the child can receive more detailed information about the whole creative process, about the history of the animation theater and also participate in construction workshops for puppets specially developed for them. The visit also includes a mini-show, in the space coexistence area, with educational topics such as preservation of the environment or encouragement of reading. In this way the visit to space is potentiated, helping the little ones to better understand this art and its innumerable possibilities.

Training workshops and Free courses on the creative processes of the animation theater:
The free courses, workshops and experiences maintained by the space aim at sharing information about the different aspects of the creation of a show of animation theater, seeking to train and empower those interested in this technique. Scenography, lighting, confection and manipulation of puppets are the themes proposed in workshops that periodically take place in Espaço do Boneco, taught by professionals from Cia Polichinelo and Kruppa - Architecture, Art and Culture, partner company of Space in the task of training professionals involved with the technique of the puppet theater.

Coffee with art and Dialogues about theatrical performance:
Café com arte is an activity already in action maintained by "Kruppa-architecture, art and culture", a partner company of Espaço do Boneco, and aims to be a meeting point between professionals and the general public. In these meetings, invited professionals present their work processes stimulating dialogueson production, management and circulation of cultural products.

In an initiative to potencilize the activities of the Space of the Doll, these meetings will be directed to the area of the animation theater. The meetings are then aimed at stimulating the creative process, providing stakeholders with broader visions of the realities encountered in the professional practice of this art and also provide the public with access to assemblies and works relevant to their study process. These dialogues can be stimulated through round tables, small shows whose realization can be articulated in the area of coexistence of the Space of the Doll, or exhibition of shorts on the theme.

Museum of Archeology and Paleontology

In interaction with the City Hall of the Municipality of Araraquara and the Araporã Foundation, Zanettini Arqueologia has been working on the consolidation of MAPA, now one of the main institutions for the preservation of the archaeological heritage of the state of São Paulo. This partnership, which began more than a decade ago, involves, since 2011, the realization of a museological diagnosis and the configuration of a museological plan for the institution.
The museological diagnosis resulted in the organization of 36 thousand archaeological pieces, coming from 37 municipalities in São Paulo, which demonstrates the MAPA's regional projection. These pieces are the result of academic research carried out by the GEA (Archaeological Studies Group / UNESP) team - in integration with other research centers and universities, as well as studies related to the environmental licensing of various projects.
During the construction of the museum plan, it was possible to establish MAPA's mission: "to carry out excellent research in the areas of Archeology, Paleontology and Museology, constituting a dynamic pole of construction of knowledge, formation and sustainable use of cultural heritage, collaborating in a significant way for local and regional development ".
In November 2011, this process had an important milestone: the inauguration of MAPA's first long-term exhibition, entitled "Multiple Looks".
This exhibition shows the museum as a process: its collections, narratives and plans for the future. The expository discourse brings the multiple glances and multiple voices that have built this institution, as well as invites the citizens of Araraquara and region to bring their eyes to this museum.

In this way, MAPA has become an open space for the community, playing an important role as an agent of social transformation, where references from the past gain new meanings, useful for the discussion about the future construction of the region.

Casarão - Assentamento Bela Vista (Bela Vista settlement)

The house is located in the settlement Bela Vista, rural area of Araraquara-SP. Built in 1884, it was the headquarters of the farm, a major coffee producer. At the time, slaves were allowed (the abolition of slaves only happened on May 13, 1888 - even after slavery had ended in Brazil, there were slaves on the farm, and when fiscals were to supervise it, they were hidden in secret tunnels. Sad.), And of course the making had many, and they were responsible for erecting the whole house, while their dwelling was the cellar, the slave quarters. Colonel Antônio Joaquim de Carvalho, the coffee baron of the region, was the owner of the land and the house. The house is huge, has more than 50 rooms. It has doors with 3 meters of height and immense windows, that boasted the wealth. The slave quarters, in the basement of the house, were the opposite, tiny windows and a small door for the slaves to enter, making them bow their heads in a gesture of submission to the colonel. Of course there were the places where they were punished. A wall, just in front of the entrance door of the senzala still has the chains attached to its wall. And there was also a basement just below the senzala, which was sealed by the last family to live in this house, some 20 years ago. Currently the mansion is very different from its golden age. It serves as home to hundreds of bats and is all old, being weathered by the action of time. On the pavement where the colonel lived, it is no longer possible to walk more because of risk of collapse. The place is like a tourist spot, many people go to the house to know the history of the region, and others out of sheer curiosity, in an attempt to witness something supernatural.

Some Stories

Tunnels for the basement were topped
"The last families who lived here, and that's about 20 years ago, said they heard people crying and asking for water. The voices, according to them, came from a kind of basement that was under the senzala, used to chain the slaves. In trying to solve the problem, they blocked the entrance of that space. As far as I remember, that solved it. " Says Jailson Aparecido Nobre, 26 years old. Jailson explains that as a kid, he played in the now inaccessible space. "It still exists, it's down here. The walls have chains and inscriptions in Roman numerals. Other than that, it has a tunnel of approximately 300 meters used to connect this senzala to another area of the farm, "he reveals.

Another settler, João Francisco da Silva, 69, says that a lady known as "Maria do seu Vidal," said several times that she had seen something strange in the enigmatic colonial house: "She was one of the last dwellers of the house. On several occasions, she told us that a very beautiful and well-dressed woman appeared to her holding a tray full of jewels, saying that there was a treasure under the house, and that Mrs. Maria should dig to find it, "says Silva, who complete. "She would have no reason to invent this story. He was a serious and correct person."

Arena da Fonte

ARENA DA FONTE

On August 24, 1960, the "Arena da Fonte" was inaugurated, when Ferroviária and Ponte Preta played a commemorative game that ended tied at 3 to 3. The stadium until 2008 had just over 18 thousand seats, but with the major renovation, for the reconstruction of the place, moved to 20,950 seats, forming a modern arena. With the enterprise managed by companies that support the sport of Araraquara and the football of the Ferroviária, plus the City Hall of Araraquara, the stadium has been completely refurbished. Sectors such as the social bleachers, the lateral ones, known as "Boca do Lixo", were demolished and gave way to more sectors of bleachers, thus expanding the capacity of the stadium. The panoramic restaurant, and the official store of the S.A. Ferroviária were built, leaving the arena even more complete and modern. The bathrooms are larger than the old ones, as is the parking lot. Ferroviária administration says the new lawn is one of the best in the country. It has a state-of-the-art drainage system. For tourists, there is a museum inside the railway station, which contains trophies and autographed shirts of Ferroviária players, entrance is free, but only works Saturday morning.

Basalto Park

Parque do Basalto (Basalto Park)

If you are not fond of carnival parties and prefer to enjoy the tranquility away from the revelry, the Basalto Park, maintained by the University Center of Araraquara - Uniara, is an alternative to be distracted during the festive season. The option is indicated for those who like the contact with nature, leisure and even to research.
The Park, which occupies an area of 65 thousand square meters, is located between Jardim Pinheiros neighborhoods and Parque Residencial São Paulo, in the eastern region of the municipality, and has a rich biodiversity.
It is possible to hold picnics and hikes on the trails, and the visitor can take photos and observe the birds and plants. Practicing extreme sports such as climbing and abseiling (with prior authorization) in cascades and waterfalls are also options.
The Park, which was born from the recovery of a degraded area, was inaugurated in October 2000. In addition to waterfalls, trees, plants, animals and native species, it has kiosks and a children's playground. There is also a snack bar and a space that can be used for meetings and meals. "Its recovery has transformed the place into an 'island' of fauna refuge, where many species have found shelter and food," says the coordinator of the Park and Professor of Uniara, João Carlos Geraldo.

According to him, public areas, such as the Basalto Park, allow greater contact and proximity of the population and students with environmental education and awareness programs. "It is a green area inserted in an urban context, which has been expanding and densifying, with the center of the city being verticalized and the yards are disappearing. The proximity of people to the natural world is increasingly distant in everyday life. Therefore, the implementation and maintenance of these green 'islands' in the urban fabric is essential, "he explains.
